1, If your landlord files a suit to evict you in Magistrate Court, you have the right to remove your case from magistrate court to circuit court. If this is what you want, you do it right away. This is your right.

2, You also have a right to file a counterclaim for money damages against your landlord if your rights have been violated. Always find out what your rights are, because nine out of ten they have been violated.

3, You have a right to have your case decided by a jury either in magistrate court or circuit court, but not both.

4, If your landlord is trying to evict you for non-payment of rent only, an eviction petition in magistrate court must be dismissed if you offer to pay the rent and all court costs before the hearing.

5, You have more rights and you have no idea just how much more. You will always have to fight for them. Some people don't want you to know them or have them. Get off your ass and stand up for yourself. Just do it right.
